Step6. Now its time to make the torn ripped edges. So hit L on your keyboard for the Lasso Toll and go around the edges and make it rough looking. Once you have made your rough edges and got your selection all around. Hit Shift+Ctrl+I to inverses it and press delete. It leave's you with something like this.

Step7. Ok now Ctrl+Click on layer1 (your paper) You should get your marching ants. You do! Great now go to FILTER>BLUR>GAUSSIAN BLUR round about 0.4. O.K. Now go to SELECT>DESELECT or Ctrl+D. To get rid of your selection (marching ants).
Step8. Now its time for the BURN and DOGDE Tools.
Burn the edges with the BURN Tool (hit O on your keyboard)
use a soft round brush and keep changing the size and exposure pressure of it.
When happy with it change to the DODGE Tool,(hit SHIFT+O until you get to to DODGE Tool its looks like a lolly pop) but this time do the centre (not the edges) You want the centre to be lighter than the edges. Should look something like this.
Making the holes and rip's, back to the LASSO Tool (Hit L on your keyboard) Make sure you are working on your paper layer and do your hole. Once you have your selection (marching ants) Hit DELETE and DESELET it. Do this as many times as you want. When your ready it's the BURN TOOL again(Hit O on your keyboard) and burn your holes/rip's edges just like we did when we used it for the paper edges.

Step9. New layer for your text. Hit T on your keyboard for the text tool. Click and drag so you get a text box. Now type in your text, change the font and size to what you like, colour black. Make sure everything is Ok because you need to rasterize the text layer so go to LAYER>RASTERIZE>TYPE. This will make it into a normal layer. Now if your text is covering up a hole, Ctrl+Click on the paper layer (you get your marching ants). Make sure you are on your text layer and go SELECT>INVERSE and DELETE. You can now see through your holes.

Step10. Now turn your opacity down to about 60% on your text layer. Add a layer mask by going to the add a layer mask button at the bottom of the layers pallete. Make sure your foreground colour is black and your backgroundcolour is white. Working in the layers mask using a soft round brush start painting over the text to make it look faded in parts. Use a low flow setting about 28%. Once you are happy with it go to FILTER>DISTORT>WAVE.(see below).
Apply the same WAVE settings to the paper layer aswell.

Now I thought it looked a little too redish. So I went to IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>HUE/SATURATION
and turn down the SAT to -34.
Thats it. Hope you have enjoyed doing my first ever Tutorial.
